Guest Dj’s

  • Jef Freedom

With roots grounded in the SF Bay Area, honorary New Yorker, Jefreedom is by far a renaissance man of his time. Dipping his hands and feet in most art forms, he authentically embodies the elements and indigenous origins of hip hop. DJ, dancer, graffiti artist, designer, and photographer are some of his better known titles. Jef's artistry is a way of life, by nature he embodies artistic fusion, and freedom. His personal journey has been composed of electric ingredients, divinely selected, since an early age–all led him to become a member of Dance Fusion Crew of New York. As an 80’s youth Jef was heavily influenced by the east coast emergent hip hop scene. He studied the legendary dancers he now calls family. He took the inspiration of freestyle movement, from dancers like WOR, The Nicholas Brothers, Joao Grande, MopTop, and cultivated a movement style of his own. Jef is a founding member of Troomoov Crew, known for its unique capacity to create unconventional expressions of movement, unglued to the forms hip hop was taking at the time. As an avant-garde mover he danced to drum and bass and spiritual jazz music. Jef plays with movement no different than a jazz artist plays an instrument.
